The creators of the highly anticipated sports action film Peddi have officially introduced the character Gournaidu, played by Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar. This reveals part of the film’s strategy to unveil key characters as it approaches its major promotional milestones.
The First Look: Strength and Command
The makers released a striking video and poster showcasing Shivarajkumar in his role.
- Presence: He is depicted in a wrestling arena, exuding a commanding and intense presence.
- Visual Style: His look as Gournaidu is described as both regal and rugged, featuring a large handlebar mustache, sharp earrings, and an intimidating, piercing gaze.
- Role Significance: The character is expected to be pivotal and explosive on the big screen, marking the first time the veteran actor will speak Telugu in a film.

Ram Charan underwent a physical transformation and learned the Vizianagaram dialect for his role.
Release Information
The much-anticipated theatrical trailer is scheduled for a grand launch in Mumbai on May 18, 2026. Peddi is set for a global theatrical release on June 4, 2026, and will be available in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. Post-theatrical streaming rights have been acquired by Netflix.
