What is İKSV?
The Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) is a non-profit group. Since 1973, it has worked to make the arts and culture stronger in Istanbul, Turkey.

What does İKSV do?
The Foundation organizes several famous events every year:
- Festivals: They host big festivals for Music, Film, Theatre, and Jazz.
- Art Shows: They run the Istanbul Biennial (a large art exhibition) and a special film week in autumn called Filmekimi.
- Competitions: They host the Leyla Gencer Voice Competition for singers.
Special Locations and Programs
- Salon İKSV: A venue where they hold live concerts.
- İKSV Alt Kat: A space that offers creative activities for children and young people.
- International Work: They manage the “Türkiye Pavilion” at a world-famous art event in Venice, Italy. They also run an artist residency program in France to help creators live and work abroad.
Supporting Artists
İKSV helps artists grow by:
- Giving out awards and money to talented people in theater, music, and translation.
- Writing reports to help improve cultural rules and education.
- Helping to produce new plays and movies.
International Partners
İKSV is a respected member of global groups like UNESCO (Türkiye National Commission) and Culture Action Europe.
