Director Rajkumar Periasamy has officially shared the first teaser for his highly anticipated new movie, Om. The film features a star-studded cast including Dhanush, Mammootty, and Sai Pallavi. Because the director recently had a massive hit with his blockbuster movie Amaran, fans and movie lovers were incredibly excited to see what this new project would look like.
However, after watching the short video, many felt it was a bit disappointing and felt incomplete.
A Good vs. Evil Story in the Woods
The brief teaser sets up a classic story of good fighting against evil. It takes place deep inside a thick forest where innocent people seem to be suffering. Dhanush appears as a savior character who steps in to protect these helpless people from danger.
While the forest scenes look interesting, the video does not explain much about the story or what the movie is truly about.
Big Stars Are Missing
The biggest surprise for fans was who wasn’t in the video. Even though Mammootty and Sai Pallavi are main actors in the movie, they do not appear in the teaser at all. Because these two actors are a huge part of the project, people were really hoping to catch at least a quick glimpse of their characters.
The Bright Spot: The Music
Even though the video left out the main stars and plot details, it did have one standout feature: the music. The background score was created by Sai Abhyankar, a young and rising music sensation in the Tamil film industry. His powerful music added a lot of excitement and mystery to the visuals.
Release Date
Fans will have to wait a little while longer to see the full story come together. Om is scheduled to hit theaters on October 16. Since there are still a few months left before the premiere, the filmmakers have plenty of time to release new trailers and build up excitement for the audience.
