The buzz around the new movie Balan: The Boy was incredibly high from the very start, especially after actor Naga Chaitanya and director Priyadarshan publicly praised it before its release. Now, following a special celebrity screening held in Hyderabad, it is clear that the movie has completely blown everyone away.
Stunned Stars and High Praise
The film left major Telugu film personalities deeply moved and highly impressed:
- Shriya Kontham: The actress confessed that she found it hard to put her feelings into words after watching the screening. She called the film a rare cinematic achievement and noted that even though the movie features only a small number of main characters, every single role delivered a powerful and memorable performance.
- Niharika Konidela: The well-known producer shared her immense admiration for the creators, stating that the movie excels in absolutely every creative and technical department. She gave special credit to the team for building such a polished, emotionally rich experience.
- Naga Chaitanya: Having watched a special viewing earlier, the popular actor called the thriller a massive success waiting to happen. He predicted it would deeply touch audiences, particularly across Telugu-speaking regions.
The Minds Behind the Magic
The dark, psychological mystery is helmed by director Chidambaram, who previously made history with the 2024 survival thriller Manjummel Boys—which became the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time. Moving from the warmth of his previous film, Chidambaram takes the audience into much darker and deeper psychological territory with Balan: The Boy.
The project is produced by Venkat K Narayana and Shailaja Desai under the banners of KVN Productions and Thespian Films.
Current Status
Thanks to a grand release in the Telugu states organized by the famous Annapurna Studios, Balan: The Boy is currently running successfully in theaters. With a wave of unanimous praise building up from the industry’s biggest names, it is quickly securing its place as one of the most talked-about and deeply moving cinematic experiences of the year.
