Star actress Rashmika Mandanna has reportedly agreed to play the iconic Carnatic music singer M.S. Subbulakshmi on the big screen in an upcoming biographical film.

The film will be directed by Gowtham Tinnanuri, best known for directing the hit movie Jersey. The project is currently in its pre-production stage. It is expected to be produced jointly by several top producers and is scheduled for a theatrical release next year.

According to reports, the team plans to hold a grand launch ceremony for the film on September 16, which marks the 101st birth anniversary of M.S. Subbulakshmi.
