The wait might finally be over for fans looking forward to the movie Jana Nayagan. According to a new report by Kumar published on July 3, 2026, the long-delayed film is now back on track and aiming for a theatrical release on July 24, 2026.
Censor Board Adjustments and the ‘A’ Rating
The movie has faced months of controversy and delays caused by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). However, recent reports from Tamil media indicate that Jana Nayagan has finally cleared the censor process. Surprisingly, it received an ‘A’ (Adult) certificate. While fans are still waiting for an official announcement to confirm the exact date, this certification means the movie is officially ready to hit the big screen this July.
Chief Minister Vijay’s Final Film
This project holds massive importance because it stars Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay. Jana Nayagan is widely believed to be Vijay’s final film as an actor before he retires from cinema to focus entirely on his political career. Because of this, the release has drawn intense public interest. Reports even state that Vijay personally stepped in to help speed up the process and resolve the issues holding the movie back.
An official confirmation from the production team is expected very soon to put an end to all the speculation.
