Tamil actor Karthi has built a solid fanbase in the Telugu film industry. Over the years, all of his Tamil movies have received simultaneous releases across the Telugu states. Way back, Karthi starred alongside Nagarjuna in the hit movie Oopiri. Although Karthi wanted to do a direct, straight Telugu movie right after that, plans did not materialize for a long time. Now, after years of waiting, the actor is working on back-to-back Telugu projects.
Two Straight Telugu Films in 2027
Karthi has lined up two direct Telugu projects set to hit theaters in 2027:
- Film with Kalyan Shankar
- Director: Kalyan Shankar
- Producers: Sithara Entertainments
- Release Update: Initially planned for a Sankranthi 2027 release, the movie has now been shifted to Summer 2027.
- HIT 4
- Director: Sailesh Kolanu
- Producers: Nani’s Wall Poster Cinema
- Timeline: Shooting begins right after Sankranthi 2027, with the movie scheduled to launch later in 2027.

Alongside his straight Telugu projects, Karthi is keeping busy with additional major titles:
- Marshal: Karthi is currently shooting for this film, which is slated to release this year.
- Project with Mohan Raja: Karthi is in active talks with director Mohan Raja for a new movie that is expected to go on floors soon.
