Annapurna Studios and Epic Studios are jointly producing the upcoming film Pallaburusu. Directed by Uday Chauhan, the movie features Sudhakar Reddy, Muralidhar Goud, Prajwal Yadma, and Gomathi Reddy in prominent roles.
Following a positive response to its promotional material, the film is scheduled for release on August 14. To mark the occasion, the team hosted a pre-release press meet featuring star actor King Nagarjuna as the chief guest.
Golden Jubilee Celebrations and Expansion Plans
Addressing the media, Nagarjuna highlighted that Annapurna Studios is celebrating its 50th year:
“Greetings to everyone. This is the 50th year of Annapurna Studios. We have produced many wonderful films under the banner that my father started. We have also made films that won National Awards. As part of the 50th anniversary celebrations, our entire team came together and took several decisions.”
As part of these milestone decisions, the production house has expanded into film distribution, aiming to revive and strengthen the distribution system established during the era of his father, Akkineni Nageswara Rao. Nagarjuna noted that this new venture is already proving very successful.
Looking ahead, the banner plans to accelerate its production pace, work on a larger scale, and offer opportunities to new talent. Nagarjuna shared their upcoming lineup:
- Lenin (recently released)
- Palla Burusu (releasing August 14)
- Rambha, Urvashi, and Menaka (upcoming release)
- Two additional unnamed films lined up for the future
- King 100 (Nagarjuna’s landmark project)
Nagarjuna emphasized that Annapurna Studios will remain vibrant and active with renewed enthusiasm.
Nagarjuna on “Pallaburusu” and Core Values
Reflecting on the core emotional theme of Pallaburusu, Nagarjuna shared his personal views on family and elder care:
“There is no greater blessing than taking care of one’s parents. I took care of my parents, and they took care of me when I was young. Whenever we are scared as children, we hold our parents’ hands. Once we grow up, we should take responsibility for them. Everyone should take care of their parents.”
He also praised his wife, Amala, mentioning that she takes wonderful care of her parents, adding that there is no one more fortunate than her.
Nagarjuna recalled that when director Uday Chauhan first narrated the script to him, this central theme immediately stood out, rendered in a very entertaining manner. He lauded the cast’s performances, praising Sudhakar Reddy for his work as Shambhu Thatha, Muralidhar Goud, and the entire acting team. Describing the film as the result of strong teamwork, Nagarjuna expressed high confidence in its success at the box office.
