The upcoming romantic drama Chennai Love Story is gearing up for a big release in cinemas this Friday. Before hitting the screens, the film completed its censor formalities with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), passing with a clean slate.
Censor Board Result & Lengthy Runtime
The CBFC gave Chennai Love Story a U/A certificate without suggesting a single cut.
The officially approved runtime for the movie is 179 minutes (2 hours and 59 minutes). While a nearly three-hour length is quite long for a romantic movie, industry experts note that a strong, engaging screenplay can easily keep audiences glued to their seats.

Producer Hopes & The Baby Connection
Chennai Love Story is backed by producers SKN and Sai Rajesh.
This isn’t the first time the producer duo has backed a nearly three-hour romantic film. They previously released the smash hit movie Baby, which also had a 3-hour runtime. Baby went on to become a massive blockbuster and a huge financial success at the box office. The makers are hoping that Chennai Love Story follows in the footsteps of Baby and achieves similar box-office success when it hits theaters this Friday.
